JYJ (previously known as JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN ) is a three member boyband, formed by three members of South Korean boyband 東方神起 (TVXQ) : Junsu, Jejung and Yuchun. Their debut Japanese language EP The... reached No. 1 on the Japanese Oricon albums chart. The band's global debut album, The Beginning, is planned for an October release.
The group formed following the hiatus of TVXQ. The three members who were to become JYJ filed a lawsuit against their South Korean record label, SM Entertainment, claiming that the 13 year length of their contracts and their earning percentages were unfair. The Seoul Central District Court ruled in their favor on this matter.
